Lesson Plan: Letter A Online Course (YK&DK Academy)
This lesson plan outlines the procedures for freelancers who have been accepted to grade assignments in the Letter A Online Course within the YK&DK Academy. The content reviewed in this course is created by students enrolled in the Letter A Course. It is designed to be elementary‑appropriate, making it understandable and accessible for students of any age range.
1. Course Overview
Freelancers will access a private Padlet that contains multiple student‑created assignments. Each Padlet post includes:
- A Google Form link
- A YouTube video created by a Letter A student
- A comment section used to claim assignments
Your responsibility is to select an unclaimed assignment, claim it properly, and complete the grading steps in the correct order.
2. Step‑by‑Step Assignment Instructions
Step 1: Go To The Private Padlet
Freelancers will be directed to the private Padlet where all Letter A assignments are posted. This Padlet is accessible only to approved graders.
Step 2: Locate An Assignment That Has Not Been Claimed
Each Padlet post contains:
- A Google Form
- A student‑created YouTube video
- A comment section
You must select a post that does not already have a comment in the Padlet comment section. This indicates the assignment has not yet been claimed by another grader.
Step 3: Claim The Assignment By Commenting “Graded”
If you want to complete the assignment:
- Leave a comment on the Padlet post that says “Graded”
- This marks the assignment as claimed
- It prevents other freelancers from grading the same assignment
Only after commenting “Graded” may you begin grading.
Step 4: Open The Google Form To Begin Grading
Click the Google Form link inside the Padlet post. The form contains:
- A link to the student‑created YouTube video
- Five survey questions
- A designated comment section for your grading comment
Step 5: Watch The Assigned YouTube Video
The video is:
- Created by a Letter A student
- Elementary‑appropriate
- Designed to be understandable for graders of any age
Watch the video in full before answering the questions.
Step 6: Complete The Five Survey Questions
The Google Form contains five questions based on the video. You must:
- Answer all five questions accurately
- Ensure all responses are complete
Compensation:
- $0.10 per question
- Total for survey questions: $0.50
Step 7: Submit Your Comment In The Google Form’s Comment Section
After answering the five questions:
- Write your grading comment in the comment section inside the Google Form
- This comment will be reviewed by the CEO
- Do not post the comment on YouTube yet
Compensation:
- $0.50 for the approved comment
Step 8: Submit The Google Form To The CEO
You must submit the form only when:
- All five survey questions are completed
- Your comment is written in the comment section
Submitting early or incomplete forms may delay approval and payment.
Step 9: Await CEO Approval
Your comment will be reviewed for:
- Professional tone
- Accuracy
- Alignment with YK&DK Academy standards
You may only proceed once approval is confirmed.
Step 10: Post The Approved Comment
After receiving CEO approval:
- Post the approved comment on the YouTube video
- Ensure the posted comment matches the approved version exactly
Step 11: Payment Processing
Payment is issued after the approved comment has been posted. This confirms:
- All steps were completed correctly
- Your grading work is verified
Total Compensation for Letter A Assignment:
- $0.50 for five survey questions
- $0.50 for the approved comment
- Total: $1.00
3. Key Reminders
